Can I show you something really cool? Some really cool tech I’ve been working on.
But first, I want you to know the problem I’m solving. So many of you can’t find the job right now. It’s not because you’re not qualified. And it’s not because the jobs don’t exist.
There’s a hiring bottleneck. Small businesses make up more than half of all jobs. A third of them are hiring, but they can’t fill the roles.
Why, you ask? Too many resumes, especially AI generated ones. Everyone looks qualified, so the system gets clogged.
My team at Pier built technology to help small businesses cut through that noise and quickly decide who the serious candidates are and why it makes sense to talk to them.
Let me walk you through the product we built for employers so that you can get hired faster.
So this is where it starts, the job description. They don’t need to overengineer it. They just write the role the way they actually understand it.
We use this to understand what matters in the job for them. Not just keywords, but what success actually looks like.
From there, Pier generates AI-led interview questions for them automatically. These aren’t generic. They’re designed to help them hear people talk about real work they’ve actually done.
And this part is really important. Every question comes with an anchored rating scale.
Before any interview, the employer defines what a strong answer actually looks like based on their role, their standards, and their expectations.
So, the AI isn’t deciding what’s good or not. It’s listening for whether candidates meet what the employer already set.
The employer gets a link to publish, and job candidates simply click that link to engage with our AI interviewer, Malia.
Candidates just talk. No scheduling, no waiting. Everyone actually gets heard.
Malia: Hi, David. I’m Malia, an AI interviewer from the Pier team. Thanks for taking the time to chat with me today about the chief marketing officer (CMO) role. I’m looking forward to learning more about your experience. Are you ready to get started?
David: Thanks, Malia. I’m a little nervous, but I’m excited about this opportunity.
Malia: It’s completely normal to feel a bit nervous, David. I’m here to make this a comfortable conversation. So, take a deep breath. Let’s dive into your background first.
Behind the scenes, we listen for clarity, structure, and depth. Whether the candidate explained what they actually did and when the interview is over, this is what employers get, not a script dump, and evaluation of skills, context, and fit.
So, instead of guessing from resumes, they get to hear directly from you, your soft skills, your story.
That’s what we’re building.
This week, we’re beginning trials with small businesses. If you’re hiring or looking to get hired, spread the word and visit pier.so.
Thank you.
